Hello sissel,
Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful patterns. I like the “pebble” effect of the missing hole technique. But I wish I knew how to weave with the cards neatly staying alligned.
I just love the dragon heads. I also used a translation and that went well.
But when I started to weave, It is just impossible to keep the cards in place. I just do not understand how you can keep the cards so well at their place. After trying over and over again, I gave up, frustrated. But I would like to try again with the right guidance.
Is there a trick to keep them in the right order?
Thank you so much if you could help me out with this issue.

Hi
I’m so pleased to hear thet you could understand the instructions using Google translate. I do that often as well :-)
The reason why it’s more difficult to weave the dragon heads and to get that pebbled effect is that you only use two holes out of four. The cards turn backwards or forwards on their own accord. I use a lot of tension on the warp threads – that’s why they stay in the right order. In the old days (Viking age) they used a board when they wove bands so the cards had the support of the board to stay in place. I don’t know how you weave, if you use a loom or not, but if you don’t have a board, make sure you have an even and firm tension on the warp. The cards will be pushed together and not turn as easily.
Best of luck :-)
Thank you so much for this explenation (with a small knowledge of Swedish and Google ;) I got it). Finally I can try out the dragon heads.
Thank you! – I’m so pleased to hear that you understood it all. Google translate has its benefits too (sometimes) ;-)
If you run into any problems – feel free to ask. I will answer as best I can. :-)
Best of luck to you!
